How often do you get the full run of Dublin Castle, almost entirely to yourself?
Needless to say, I was there with camera in hand...
Apparently this seat was where the kings and queens of England parked themselves when slumming it in Dublin. Regrettably, I did not take this rare chance to picture myself seated here (mostly because I had no idea what it was).
Again apparently, Margaret Thatcher had this door constructed so that she could slip unnoticed between negotiations and the state apartments. Didn't the Irish ever build anything?
Anyway, this is where the business was tonight:
