An excellent weekend in Milan, the first decent stint here since...2008?

How nice to so casually arrange a weekend here with visiting friends.

Highlights included:

• Friday evening dinner at @unpostoamilano, a converted farmhouse just outside the city centre
• drinks at @magcafe, both at their original location along the canal in Venigli and - unexpectedly, but very happily - in the new Mercato Centrale in the main station
• dumplings at @laravioleriasarpi, in (an absolutely hopping Saturday night) Chinatown
• Marc Chagall and Henri-Cartier Bresson exhibitions at @mudec_official
• excellent local beers at @berebuonabirra and local wines @cantinaurbana.milano

As rich, convenient, etc., as Zurich may be, this trip was a reminder that Milan is the big city around here.

Next time, I'll stay in a more convenient neighbourhood and research a few spots for excellent coffee - hopefully, not too long from now.
